User Story: Henry
Where I live we don’t have very many big haunted locations, only a select few. I know it’s usually a bad idea to hunt where you live but I felt like it was necessary. I’m an intermediate ghost hunter and I’m with APIS, or the Amherst Paranormal Investigation Service, and ghost hunting is definitely not new to me. I have all the professional gear but I saw this app and decided to give it a shot during the first couple hours of my hunt at home. Here’s a little backstory behind my house. It was build before the civil war back in 1826 and is one of many houses around here from that time and one that has been deemed a western New York land mark because of its age. Many people have lived and died in this house. But one in particular has decided to stay in the house. His name is Henry, I know that because I asked him what his name was over my p-sb7 spiritbox and I heard “I’m Henry” come back through so clearly. Anyway I knew Henry was in the house and he was most active during times where everybody was distracted. Henry is a friendly spirit and means no harm at all. He is very curious though, as it seems like he died a long time ago and is curious about modern things. So he’ll watch behind someone when they’re on their phone, stand at the end of a hallway or in a doorway and just listen, watch people while they sleep, or even sometimes play with my cat. He is also easily frightened so getting him on the radar was really tricky. You also will always know Henrys in the room with you because you feel like you’re being stared at and watched, not necessarily in a bad way. Anyway I decided to use this app over all my fancy ghost hunting gear because I was skeptical about this app at first, but now I believe the app fully works. It was around midnight when my brother I decided to turn on the radar to look for Henry. We started asking some simple questions and didn’t really get anything at first. We then turned off all the lights and the tv and then tried again. At this point the radar picked up a yellow dot almost right behind where I was sitting. I turned around and welcomed Henry into the room if he wanted to join us. The yellow dot turned into a red for and then vanished. A few minutes passed before we got anything else. The next thing we got was a red dot to the left of the phone. It kinda spooked us out. My brother asked if Henry wanted to speak with us and then the radar said “basement”. The room we were sitting in had the door to the basement in it. I thought nothing of it at first and asked “what about the basement?” The the red dot moved closer to the basement door and around 3-4 minutes later it said “come”. That scared the crap out of us because we thought Henry was actually there trying to get us to go into the basement with him. The red dot stayed in place near the basement door. My brother then said “do you want us to go with you?” and after a few seconds of silence the radar said “open” and we looked at each other and my brother whispered to me “maybe he means open the door?” And then I asked “Do you want us to open the basement door?” The red dot actually got closer to the basement door and Henry didn’t answer my question so I asked it again. Then after a few minutes the device said “door”. At that point my brother and I knew immediately that Henry was there trying to get into the basement. My brother said “tell me why you want to go into the basement” and we waited for a response. We didn’t get one but the red dot stayed where it was. Then I asked “Henry, why do you want to go into the basement?” After a few seconds the radar said “safety”. My brother then got up to open the basement door and the red dot on the radar vanished. Despite that my brother still opened the basement door and then came back to sit by the radar with me. After a few minutes a green dot appeared behind my brother and then quickly turned yellow and stayed there. My brother said “I opened the door for you, you can go down there now” and after that the yellow dot faded and a red dot appeared by the basement door and the radar immediately said “follow”. At that point my brother and I decided we were done with Henry for the night and we thanked him, shut the basement door, and went upstairs to bed. Henry has never actually been that active before. We’ve picked up slight things but never anything like that. I believe this app works 100% and does everything it says it does based on my experience with it. This app makes it easy for a begginer ghost hunter to have something simmilar to real ghost hunting tech and its way cheaper then any of the real tech. This app is now part of my arsenal and I plan to use it again in the future.
